EMS is pretty bad also - FD aint too great either You wont see this reported by any fire or ems magazines or newsletters Times for week of Sept 19 2016 (maybe) (all times are fractional minutes - ie - 1 and 1/2 minutes is shown as 1.5 minutes) NYPD 1 Critical - .06 for pickup - 1.44 for calltaking - 1.81 for dispatch (que probably - not enough cars - which is kinda hard to believe with 40K cops) - 3.29 travel time FDNY 1 structure fires - .07 for pickup - 1.20 call taking - .20 for dispatch - 3.33 for travel time - (no mention of call hand off from 911 - maybe they dont do that anymore at all - maybe they just FORGET to mention it here) EMS 1 Life Threatening - .06 phone pickup - .97 calltaker (PD) - .10 EMS pickup (transfer to EMS calltaker from 911 calltaker) - .73 for EMS processing - 1.61 for EMS dispatch - 6.60 average travel time FDNY 3 - apparently this is FD units going to EMS calls - 2.96 call taking (jeez) - .09 EMS pickup - 1.87 for EMS processing - .55 for dispatch - 4.59 for travel time Fastest - FDNY to structure fires - apparently they average 5 minutes from 911 phone starting to ring until arrival of first unit (hopefully an eng or ldr - not a chief) Note - FDNY is slower to EMS LTE than EMS is - I think the idea is that FDNY fire units are supposed to beat the ambulance to the scene - but they never do Note - .06 and .07 for phone pickup is apparently the number of rings it takes for the 911 phone to be initially answered -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
