Cal Fire Plan for Placer County - 2017

very complicated around page 30 of 201 as they try to explain who does
what and why

keywords - mutual aid agreement - automatic aid agreement - closest
response - fire service coordination - fire department coordination

====================================

"Schedule A" is structural firefighting using fulltime CalFire
employees (performed via a special contract between Cal Fire and the
local agency - Cal Fire gets paid by the local agency to supply this
service) - this is how a state forest fire service becomes an 'all
risk' agency

"Schedule B" is wildland firefighting us fulltime CalFire firefighters
and seasonal CalFire firefighters

"Schedule C" is maybe structural and wildland using volunteers and
CalFire employees - not sure

Apparently in Cal Fire's budgeting process - everything is broken down
into one of 3 funding sources or 3 functions - Schedule A + B + C

"Local Wildland Contracts" are special agreements by Cal Fire to
assist local government agencies at fires on local government
responsibility lands- using Cal Fire FT FF and CalFire seasonal FF I
think - not using Cal Fire or County vols - again - Cal Fire gets paid
for providing this service - the local agency coughs up the money to
Cal Fire - it would be like if Boston FD paid Massachusetts State
Forest Fire Service to put out wildfires on Thompsons Island or Stony
Brook Reservation - but I think Boston would say that is state land -
they should be paying us - we put out all the fires anyhow

technically - Cal Fire does not have vol FFs - I think that all vol
FFs that work from Cal Fire stations are technically employed by the
county fd or the local district fd

yup - can be complicated - let me see what I can figure out today

keep in mind - Cal Fire dispatches many of the local and volunteer
fire stations in California - using the Cal Fire radio channels some
times - sometimes using county or local radio channels - so
operationally things are tight - administratively not so much
