Hmm. That should not happen! (It might be a problem with bash on your
distribution). Try the following:

    $ cd /tmp && bash

Do you still get the message? Also try

    $ cd /tmp && env -i bash

But regardless, if you want to create a macro that starts new tabs in
the directory mrxvt was started in (presumably your home directory),
then do something like

   Mrxvt.workingDirectory: 

Or alternately do

    Mrxvt.profile4.workingDirectory:
    Mrxvt.macro.Ctrl+Shift+t: NewTab -4
