As far as I remember regexp selection was still only a suggestion. No
patch was submitted. If one is, I'll be inclined to accept it quickly...

As long as you're willing to select the URL yourself (say double click
with appropriate selection of cutChars), and have menu support compiled
in, then you should be able to control-right click and use the options
in the "Open selection in" submenu.

I think by default you can open the selection in firefox / w3m / mutt if
I remember correctly. If you look in the menu files, this should be easy
enough to customize.

It's been a while since I had menus compiled into mrxvt though...
