I'm trying to model a network containing different voltage levels and I have to take account of the load of each branch in my network, so that my lines are not overloaded. Therefore I wanted to fill in data for the long, short and emergency ratings (RATE_A,RATE_B,RATE_C). As far as I didn't get anything wrong, these ratings define the allowable magnitude of the flow. Can anybody give me a proper definition? And how do they influence my power flow? How does matpower use this information? And I'm not sure how to calculate these ratings. Is it enough to know the maximum allowable operating current and voltage rating for the cables? I would be grateful for any help. Kind regards, Cansu Yildirim
