Hank, did you try removing the -deinterlace from the encoding profiles
(conf/encoding)? If you want deinterlacing and it fails, there is not a lot we
can do about it, as it seems to be an issue with either the media or ffmpeg. If
you don't want/need interlacing, you can simply remove the option from the
encoding profile.
