Have you tried just doing "export JAVA_PATTERN=oracle-java-7"? As far as I can
recall (and a quick glance at the scripts seems to confirm it), JAVA_PATTERN is
just the name you provide to "update-java-dependencies" and the name of the
folder where the JDK is installed.
Perhaps the mechanism should be rewritten because the location in the file
system is inferred in a rather rudimentary way, but I don't see why this
wouldn't work with a "oracle-java-7" pattern. It's just a pattern, after all ;)
