indirectly yes. We are working on a windows capture software (which I
unfortunatly had no chance to present in Harvard), that can capture in
principle from any direct show device. The announcement of the first
release will hopefully within the next two weeks. We are currently have
to do some bugfixing and documentation.
As the multi-stream capture software is ready for testing now, I had
some time for experimenting with it yesterday. I found a free screen
capture driver [1] [2] that worked quite well with our software,
although the screen capture device had a quite high CPU load compared to
regular capture devices. But in general all DirectShow capture devices
should work (like Camtasia for example).
Our software will consist of two parts:
1. The multi-stream windows capture software, that will currently only
work with Windows 7. We will release it under LGPL licence.
2. A remote inbox that can be installed under any OS. You can have
different directories on your machine for different series. The files
there will ingested to Matterhorn. This will have a Matterhorn 1.4+
dependency and needs Java 7. This will be ECL licensed
Part 1 is ready for testing, if anyone is interested I can send the binary.
As I said I hope that we will have a release out at the beginning of July.
