Rubén Pérez Vázquez commented on MH-6910:
-----------------------------------------
I think this story card is formulated in too low-level terms for what it wants
to accomplish.
On the one hand, if what we want is "copy" metadata from an existing series
for, say, schedule a whole course for the next year, we should be able to "copy
series", so that we would get a "create series" ui, with all the fields
pre-filled with the data from the original series. That also implies to define
when a series is a duplicate from other --in other words, how many and which
fields are required to differ between two series so that they are considered
"different"?
On the other hand, we want the recordings distributed to some channels to
"inherit" metadata from the original recording, but, at the same time, the
admins should be able to edit that inherited metadata to customize their
values.
I think that makes two very different story cards, which are at the same time
explained in a more abstract language, because as operators and administrators
we shouldn't be worrying about implementation details such as "metadata files".
Best regards
> As an administrator, I want to see and manage (sort, order, search) all the
> DC metadata files so I can re-use them for either adjustments or re-use
> (metadata templates)

> In order to facilitate the allocation of metadata, the admin should have
> access to all the episode and series metadata files so they can be copied,
> enhanced and re-used. As most events are re-occuring, this should facilitate
> the admins work and make sure metadata are consistent over semesters etc.
