Rubén Pérez Vázquez commented on MH-6910:
-----------------------------------------
Judy,
I guess you are right about agreeing who our users are. Indeed, there must be
many different user profiles out there and it's an impossible (probably
unnecessary) task to try and cover them all. However (and forgive if I'm being
stubborn), I don't see why we should "surface" the concept of "metadata" files
to our UIs. While I certainly see the use case (and our operators would
certainly welcome it very much --who don't?--), I fail to see why we shouldn't
implement the functionality "in UI terms", rather than making a mostly internal
resource available. Besides, if some "deeply immersed in Matterhorn" operators
want access to the specific Dublincore files, they can do it using the raw web
services, but we should keep our interfaces clean for those who are not "deeply
immersed".
As per the "2 cents" expression, I don't know of a Spanish equivalent. A
Spanish speaker would simply say "Mi opinión" or a similar expression, or, to
use an idiom, "Voy a poner mi grano de arena en este debate" ("I'm going to put
my grain of sand" --i.e. "to do my bit"-- "in this debate/discussion"). However
I've always liked the "two cents" expression a lot :) .
> As an administrator, I want to see and manage (sort, order, search) all the
> DC metadata files so I can re-use them for either adjustments or re-use

> In order to facilitate the allocation of metadata, the admin should have
> access to all the episode and series metadata files so they can be copied,
> enhanced and re-used. As most events are re-occuring, this should facilitate
> the admins work and make sure metadata are consistent over semesters etc.
