These two pain points are next on the list. We need to implement transferring annotation data to the search index for better searchability and ranking. Up until today it is unclear whether/how to distinguish annotations from "authoritative" metadata. Since uses cases may differ, it will be difficult to come up with an implementation that suits everyone.
