Hi Cristina, Recent versions of OS X (e.g. Yosemite) require Java apps such as Mauve to be signed by the app developer with a cryptographic certificate purchased from Apple. I have obtained such a certificate and used it to sign a new Mauve release, v2.4.0, available here: http://darlinglab.org/mauve/download.html
If you prefer to continue using 2.3.1 it is possible to disable the security settings on your Mac. Read this for some background: http://daviddfriedman.blogspot.com/2013/12/my-mac-lied-to-me.html If you prefer to use an OS that will not give you intentionally deceptive error messages as a ploy to extract additional revenue from software developers, check this out: http://www.howtogeek.com/187410/how-to-install-and-dual-boot-linux-on-a-mac/ Best, -Aaron On Mon, 2015-01-19 at 17:37 +0900, cav00004 wrote: > Dear Aaron, > > I've been using Mauve for long time to align and visualize bacterial genome. > I've recently updated my Mac system to MacOX Yosemite, and for the first time > tried to lunch MAUVE application (2.3.1 version).
