I didn't have a problem with GUI login when I ran YDL, but I
also didn't use the default Gnome login manager. IIRC, if you
delete gdm (rpm -e gdm), X will roll over to kdm (KDE's login
manager). YDL was kind of funny that way, defaulting to KDE
desktop but using Gnome's login manager.

I also used AfterStep instead of KDE, but other family members
used KDE & had no trouble with it.
