Hello red, without a backup there is no way to restore your database to the state directly before the server crashed. All you can do is reinstall the SAP DB software and create a database that looks like your old one.
Your attach db sounds to good to be true, how can it recreate/restore a database after the complete OS is formatted and reinstalled without any kind of backed up data? Our server has crashed. Unfortunately I haven't run the backup procedure yet when this happens. The server was reformatted and Windows NT 4.0 reinstalled. Now, Windows NT 4.0 is working well but how can I restore our database once I installed SAPDB. All I read in the documentation is restore from the backup but I haven't find anything about our scenario. In SQL Server, I could just use the system stored procedure attach db and all will work well even without the backup just the SQL database itself, how can I do the same with SAPDB? We urgently need to get our database up immediately, please help. Thanks. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
