Yes, both data and log volumes are intact. It's just that I refered "without backup"  
as having no backup created from the SAPDB Database Manager. I only need to attach the 
volumes again to SAP DB but don't know how. 
 
Big thanks to you Tilo, I will try the steps you gave on Monday.

As far as I have understood, the data and log volumes weren't lost. The OP is 
apparently looking for a step by step guide how he can re-use the existing volumes 
with a new DB instance without losing the database contents.
