Hello Chris, Yes you can. Yes the data is distributed, during the deletion of a volume.
If MaxDB 7.6 is used you can add/delete volumes using DBMGUI (->Instance->Configuration->Volumes) or dbmcli (db_addvolume, db_deletevolume). You can add and delete volumes in database state ONLINE.
