Folks; trying to install MaxDB 7.5.00.38 atop Ubuntu 6.10, and had to experience that installation runs well, same does starting x_server, but creating any database each and every time fails the same way:
dbmcli db_create WEBDB ... --- >db_admin ERR -24994,ERR_RTE: runtime environment error 1,Check knldiag! Kernel died before reaching ADMIN state What's peculiar about this: Oh yes, I _would_ like to take a look at knldiag.*, but: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/bin> ls -l /opt/maxdb/data/wrk/WEBDB total 0 Why? My first thought was about some permission issue, but this doesn't seem to be the case - everything's right the way it was set up by MaxDB installer. I am a member of sdba group, and likewise I can create arbitrary files in /opt/maxdb/data/wrk/WEBDB. Creating databases, setting parameters, ... works well, just issuing db_admin or db_online fails each and every time. Can anyone help me out of this? For what I found so far, google provided me with a few hints on that very error but none of them seems to apply to my setup... Thanks in advance and bye, Kris -- Dipl.-Ing.(BA) Kristian Rink planConnect GmbH * Programmierung/Systembetreuung Strehlener Str. 12 - 14 * 01069 Dresden fon: 0351 4657770 * mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- MaxDB Discussion Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/maxdb To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
