I could solve it by installing imagemagick and graphicsmagic and by using CONVERTER_GRAPHICS_BACKEND = 'converter.backends.graphicsmagick.GraphicsMagick' It seems ghostscript is the least maintained part of the used stack, when it comes to exceptions. Perhaps this could also help you. Also have a look under Setup/configuration and check, if you have installed all requirements.
