I am just starting with Mayan. I have version 1.1.1 up and running using MySQL as the back end. How do I set up the ACLs to allow the admin to upload documents, and the a particular group of users to view (not edit) them? This is what I tried, but it does not work.
As admin, I set up some document types and metadata. I then uploaded two documents (pdf files). I can see and search for these documents as I would expect to be able to do. I then created a user mark, logged back in as mark, and could not see any of the documents. After some reading, I setup a group called View, and edited the default ACLs for that group to allow viewing of documents as well as comments. I added mark to the View group, rebooted the server, and the user mark still cannot access the documents (ie there are no documents displayed when I click on all documents). If I edit the ACLs for a particular document to include mark, then the user mark can see the document. I don't want to have to edit the ACLs for each document after it is uploaded, I just want to have the admin upload the documents and then a member of my View group can login and see the documents. How do I do that? Thanks, Mark -- --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Mayan EDMS" group.
