Having mod_perl 1, 1.99_19, 1.99_22 and 2.x on a single machine sounds
like a world of pain, not to mention distro-shipped versions vs source
installed.

I'm giving serious thought to renting a couple of cheap PVM from
redwood virtual in the states for testing, which would work out under
20 quid, but I'd still have to muck about a lot.
