Course Description: This class aims to introduce students to the research history in cell biology. The instructor will teach methods of literature search, effective oral presentations, and relevant information in subfields of cell biology. The instructor and students will work together to pick a list of classic papers with long-lasting impact. The students can then work together or individually to pick a (recently published) companion paper to present alongside the class studies. Overall, the students will learn why specific biological questions are important, how and why the investigators addressed the questions they did, and how these discoveries significantly helped our understanding of the cell.
