1. Meet the Osteopathic Medical Schools Conference, 3/18

Pre-Student Osteopathic Medical Association (Pre-SOMA) presents :
"Meet the Osteopathic Medical Schools Conference" this Saturday,
March 18 in 2040 VLSB from 1-3pm. Osteopathic Medical schools will
come to Berkeley this Saturday to give presentations, pass pamphlets,
and answer questions about how to apply to and join one of the
fastest growing medical professions today!

There are two types of doctors in America today as there are two
types of medical schools. The one everyone knows about (allopathic
medical schools or MD's) make up the majority, accounting for over
100 medical schools in the United States. Osteopathic medical schools
account for only 20 schools and produce fewer doctors in numbers.

Therefore most people do not know about osteopathic schools.
Osteopathic doctors, DO's, are fully licensed physicians in all
specialties and in all 50 states. They have equal practicing rights
with their allopathic counterparts, MD's, but in addition to
traditional 4 year medical training DO's also receive additional
training in physical osteopathic manipulation. If you are Premed and
thinking of applying to medical school sometime in the future,
come out this Saturday and find about the other path to becoming
that medical doctor you've always dreamed of becoming one day!

4. Full Time Research Associate in the Laboratory of Adam Gazzaley, UCSF

I am a new faculty member at UCSF, with a joint appointment at UCB. I
just completed my fellowship in the lab of Mark D'Esposito at UCB.
I am now looking for a full-time Research Assistant to replace one
that is leaving my lab for medical school. I have worked with many
of the UCB undergrads during my fellowship and I know they are
excellent. I think my lab would be well suited for graduating MCB
students. One of my former MCB students suggested that I contact you
and find out how to post an announcement for UCB undergrads that
might be looking for a RA position at UCSF. I have attached the
announcement below.

Thank you for your help.
