Subject: Re: [MCN-L] Digital recorders

There are some nice reviews of digital recorders (and their mikes) at
transom.org - Jay Allison's website. We ended up going with a Marantz
660
which was such a major improvement over the minidisk recorders we had
been
using, even without an external mike, that people are thrilled. It's a
large
unit relative to the minidisc recorders, though.

Still, the quality of the recording and the ability to do transcriptions
with clarity is a big plus. Not cheap though, as has already been noted.
