I switched from Thor to MD-II over a year ago. In many ways, Thor was my
favourite. However, I found it a little clunky and hard to use. I wanted a
newsreader that could do all Thor did AND was easy to use, looked nice,
etc.
Looking back, I don't think MD-II ever did that. It's little details- like
no matter how hard I try to configure MD-II's GUI, I get only the first
part of a newspost's title, whereas with Thor's non-MUI GUI, I got the
whole title (very, very, very useful if you browse groups that always tend
to have long titles).
I also prefered the way Thor stored files. Correct me if I'm wrong, but
doesn't a binary file take up less space than if it's encoded? I could also
browse thru my archives with DOpus.
In my opinion, I don't think neither Thor nor MD-II are *the* Amiga
newsreaders. Still, they're both better than MNews. :)
Bye-bye,
