Hi.  I was going to let it slide, but I have to agree with you.  As far as I can
remember, Emerson always made cheap shit!!

This much I am sure of.  Emerson NEVER made separate high quality audio components.

Maybe 50 years ago there TV's were considered good.  But I was less then a year old
and really couldn't say.

That reminds me, however of all of the brands that have disappeared over the
years.  Webcor used to make consumer reel to reel tape recorders.  I don't know is
they survived long enough to make stereo units.  But they did not reproduce sound
very well.

DoKorder made 4 track (and quad) reel to reel.  I got suckered into buying one at
Crazy Eddies one.  I went in to buy a TEAC.  Who at that time made fine consumer
recorders.  The Dokorder was also a piece of just (made in Germany I think).

Now Teac makes junk too.
