Hey Mark,
They may be kinda neat, but since there are no 8cm CD portie units available
theyre also kinda pointless ;-P Indeed a few CD players do not have the 8cm
centre-indented tray for placing them in.
If you have access to a workshop with a sander and are careful you may be
able to sand down the standard 5 1/4" blanks down to a consistent 8cm dia.
Since the disks are written and read from the middle outwards, unlike vinyl
records, trimming the disk won't actually remove the music data at the start
which is why 8cm CDs work (I think). Alternatively if you have a DIY fanatic
friend they'll probably be more than happy to "re-size" your discs on whatever
bit of death-trap machinery they've just bought :-)

Having said that I've just dug out my two CD singles/EPs (both 5 1/4") and my
brains are steadily turning to mush under an onslaught of "Doop Doop". I must
have been mad, at least the other one "Crackers International" by Erasure has
decent music, in my opinion anyway.
