I don't know if the four or so of you who have replied to my survey
which wasn't (just a suggestion for one), but the message of this
statistically insignificant says "we don't buy pre-rec MDs" very
clearly.
Of course why would we if we could buy a CD and a blank MD
more cheaply and just copy the CD? Thats the case in Newcastle,
England anyway.
I haven't tried an 80min blank in my R3 but may pop down to Richers
and if the salesguy tries to bullsh*t me, I'll ask questions and answer
them myself which will leave him a blithering wreck on the floor.
"I heard SCMS can prevent an MD deck copying a CD... Are
the sample rates of [x] and [y] compatible... What effect does the
MPX filter have on ATRAC compression... What exactly is ATRAC
and how does..." you get the idea. So long as for each major question
you have the correct answer- you'll soon have the guy squirming :-)
I won't be cruel like that if the guy gives me an honest answer as to
why 80min blanks are out-of-stock [if indeed they are], but if he tries
to bullsh*t me, well let's just say he'll wish he hadn't :-)
