I also use use my MD recorder for recording and listening to classical music
(church organ, piano, chamber music etc...). I record my MD through an optical
cable from my marantz CD 67... (I don't remember the exact reference). I think
the sound quality from the MD recording is practically as good as the original
CD. I think you might be able to hear the difference depending on the quality
of the MD's D/A converter.
