I thought the question was digital out on audio
playback, not 'ripping' in the sense that others were
saying.  As others have said, for digital tech, if you
don't have problems with what you have, you don't need
to upgrade.  If your CD player can't get around some
scratches that it should or does not have digital out,
upgrade it.

I have no problem with people buying Plextors, I would
buy one if I needed a new CD
player/burner/ripper/whatever, if you are going to
spend money to get an improvement, you might as well
go as much improvement as you can afford.
