I've seen customers try to use the UDI wizard in Lite Touch, but I've yet to 
see one that succeeded - it's designed to run inside a ConfigMgr task sequence 
only.

I'm getting confused now.  I've definitely used UDI for LIteTouch installs 
using MDT-only before.

UDI is part of MDT, so no, you really can't use it without MDT.  And it works 
only in conjunction with ConfigMgr, so you need that too.

Lite Touch is also part of MDT, designed to be used without ConfigMgr.  It 
provides its own wizard framework.
