It looks like your IP falls outside of the IP range?

@Mike - I don't think it's too many updates because none seem to install.

@Niall -  All other content downloads fine so I don't "think" it's a boundary
issue. I have an IP range boundary setup that is 10.99.0.1-10.99.108.254 and my
 IP is 10.99.111.91.

On the setup windows and configmgr I have SMSMP=MyServer.MyDomain.com which I
assume is how it knows that's the MP but the logs seems to still complain about
that. "Failed to retrieve assigned MP. Assuming 'myserver.mydomain.com' is not
a relevant MP.

I deployed the updates to a collection that contains the MAC address of the
build and capture machine. If that doesn't work I'd expect that step to just fly
 by instead of hanging though.

does your computer have an ip address that exists in a boundary that isn't AD
site based (it's in a workgroup), use an ip range for that ip (temp boundary)

If you want windows updates to installed include SMSMP=FQDN in your Setup
windows and configmgr step Installation Properties,

the old switch SMSSLP is retired as is the Server Locator Point role.

and lastly have you deployed a SUG containing some updates to a collection that
this workgroup computer is in ?

My build and capture task sequence seems to be hanging at the install updates
step. It eventually times out and moves on because I continue on error. I don't
see any activity in
any log that would indicate software updates are even trying to install.

I am seeing errors in statusagent.log and locationservices.log. Those logs are
attached here.

Anyone know what would be causing this?
