I did exactly that ... from 1.25 to 1.26 and I forgot that the skin is
not included in the composer json ...

Vector is still maintained, and used on Wikimedia wikis. But we only
guarantee compatibility with the same MediaWiki version – if you have
a Vector skin for e.g. MediaWiki 1.25, it may not work with MediaWiki
1.26. You probably just need to upgrade your Vector skin, same as you
would upgrade an extension.
