They are tolerable unless you're an active contributor to the L list. Then you get 10-12 out of office msgs for each contribution you send to the list. The HTML vs. Plain Text debate should be a simple issue of security. HTML mail is not nearly as secure as plain text. I am sure almost all users here have HTML reading ability in their mail clients, but many of us choose consciously not to use HTML by default.
