Subject: RE: [MEDITECH-L] Micromedex vs First DataBank

We have Micromedex as well. We discovered that a lot depends on your
infrastructure and how well connected your PC is to the network. Also,
my PC is not scheduled to receive updates while the suspense file is
creating. I always upload from the desktop. I have told Meditech that we
need a validation tool to verify that all files where uploaded properly
before filing. Is there a DTS for this now? It could be the PC you are
using also and the version of the windows workstation that could be
playing a role. Meditech recommends uploading the files in two separate
batches and this enables a faster upload. We used a computer in IS, just
outside the network room, and the files loaded in about 16 hours doing
it this way. From my PC, typically it does take about 24-32 hours to
upload a suspense file and about 1 hour to file all the run drugs. I
upload into Test first, file and then check. Then I upload the suspense
into LIVE. I just discovered in TEST, that the Generic name dictionary
filed all generic names in the FS into TEST. Luckily, nothing happened
in LIVE but there is a DTS to fix this. It affects 5.4 SR2 only
apparently. I don't delete the file run because it automatically purges
the interactions index. You may also need to look at the amount of space
on your machine as this is probably causing an issue. We are getting our
own machine soon and I can't wait.

I am looking at adding the dose range checking to TEST. I wanted to
do Max dose first but it doesn't seem to work in Test. Does anyone know
if we need to add dose range checking in order to get maximum dose?

Thanks,
Ed
