Part of the process that needs to be evaluated is the importance of the
information and who your audience is that needs to learn the information. If
that includes providers, it is important to understand how each provider
utilizes PCI. Our medical staff have made it crystal clear that they do not
want the bulletin board used for any information that we are expecting them
to know. Many do not sign onto PCI every day and would not want to be
expected to work that into their routine just in case there is a
communication they need to read. The only time we see it used is if someone
"discovers" it and puts some piece of information there. Then comes the
maintenance nightmare and going in to either delete it.

Subject: Rép. : [MEDITECH-L] PCI Bulletin Board

We are about to use it for the first time in 4 years. To document when and
if we have a system downtime greater then 2 hours and part of the chart is
paper for that time period. hope this helps.

Hello,

We are looking for sites that are actively using the PCI bulletin board
function. If you are using it, we are wondering what users are allowed to
use this function, what type of information is entered, who monitors/cleans
up the information. We currently only use it for infection control and
certain problematic blood bank history information. Any help would be
greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
