I believe we have a script running which checks for this, and sends an e-mail to the designated person (Asst. Director I believe) to resolve. Sorry, but I'm not sure if this is a Script Link or another interface tool, but it has worked well for us.
The script signs in as a robot-defined user, runs the List Unposted Batches for T, and if records are returned, it goes to an Outlook account and sends a canned e-mail to a pager or pager group. The night Switchboard operators monitor it to make sure that day is actually closed every night.
