Anyway I would like to know: Are you using the EDM module successfully? We have been doing a staged implementatino over the past year - The Tracker went Live in February, Nur went Live in June and the first doctors went Live in November
What size is your hospital? We have 420 beds How many ER patients do you see (average) per day? 180 Did you have many obstacles to overcome while implementing EDM? Surely you're kidding. Did the physicians come on board willingly or kicking and screaming? The physicians wanted anything but Meditech and we finally convinced them that they would never have the same integration with anything else. Did you implement NUR before putting EDM in your critical care area? I don't understand this question. We had implemented NUR for the inhouse Med/Surg units about 7 yrs ago. The Critical Care Units still use CareVue. We are using the EDM Nur documentation in the entire ED - which for us is Fast Track, Pediatrics and Everything else. Comments about the system: There are lots of nice features and lots which aren't. We had a rough PD implementation because there were so many DTS's which were needed - and we are still adding more. The doctors do complain that it takes too long- and we are working hard to continue to modify their Templates. We are also offering them the options of using Tablets and or Voice Recognition. It is a day to day struggle to keep them motivated because a lot of the "time" issues go away once they become proficient at using the application. I think Meditech rushed this product out to the marketplace before it was ready. I also think they need a new design team because they definitely get no style points. >>> "DIANE" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 12/06/06 12:03PM >>> Hi All, Hope everyone is having a happy and healthy holiday season. I have a few questions about EDM that I would like to present to the Meditech world. Seems after a year of implementing EDM in our hospital, the ER staff/physicians have done nothing but complain. Now they are thinking of removing it from the ER and going back to paper. (Sounds crazy I know). Anyway I would like to know: Are you using the EDM module successfully? What size is your hospital? How many ER patients do you see (average) per day? Did you have many obstacles to overcome while implementing EDM? Did the physicians come on board willingly or kicking and screaming? Did you implement NUR before putting EDM in your critical care area? Comments about the system: I would like to hear from those who have any feedback good or bad about this system. Seems like such a waste to just throw out without really trying to fix the "problems". By the way, the ER can't really pinpoint to us what the problems really are just vague issues. Something like too long to document or Docs can't find what they need in the system. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Thanks in advance for your input.
