Terry, If your scanners don't support the barcodes that the drug manufacturers use, you have 2 choices - you either get different scanners or you repackage the offending items. In the pharmacy, I use a Metrologic MS1690 that will read all but a very small number of our barcodes.

I was wondering what other facilities are doing to compensate for the unsupported barcode formats such as RS Stacked and UPC-A. Also, what about some of the barcodes that are so small the scanner will not recognize them? We are currently working with Symbol DS6608 scanners. I appreciate your time.
