We used pen tablets for PCS from 2000-2002. The problem we had wasn't with the clinicians directly, it was the devices themselves. The digitizers kept breaking. We had 3-yr warranties and sent all in at least once in the three years and many twice or more. When the warranties ran out, we replaced them all with regular laptops and mice. Since the laptop screens are much larger, the staff are happier. We use a couple of pen tables now for executives but we would not go back to the units with pen tablets because of limited screen size plus slower processors than available on laptops.
