Do you typically put orders (of any kind) on a PRE IN patient prior to their becoming a ADM IN? If not, then maybe you could change your ADM module specific look up default date parameters for OE to not even show the PRE IN accounts. Then there would be less chance of the physician choosing those accounts. There is a search feature to over ride the ADM settings if they really need to see those other account type for some reason.

When we have patient at a status of PRE-IN and the Dr. has gone in and put his orders on for that patient. Then it is discovered that this is actually supposed to be an SDC patient. Admissions goes into the system and doe an Edit PRE/SCH Status to change the patient from Pre-In to Pre-SDC. This action then DC's all the drug orders that the Dr had put in. Has anyone else been able to get this to stop. We need to find a way to stop this from happening or at least a way for a notification to go to the Pharmacy department every time this event happens. Thanks in advance for any help, Tracey E.
