We are a C/S site and have always considered getting those Datamax
printers a pain to get working in the Pharmacy. In the Universe you have
to make sure the port and printer model fields are blank (unlike
everywhere else you use Datamax printers). You also have to make sure
that you are using Seagull drivers for the printers on the server that
is hosting them. Generic Text drivers will not work. If you print a
Window's test page to the printer it makes it so that the printers will
not print from Meditech until the print server that it is attached to is
restarted. These are my observations.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] {Spam?} Datamax I Class label printer for
PHA

I am trying to set up 2 Datamax I class label printers for MED
and IV in the pharmacy. The labels are generated out of npr reports.
There is no sign of life when trying to send a job to any of the
printers. I am aware of the THERMAL YES in the footnote section of the
npr. I know the printer is on the network and working. Sending a Windows
testpage to it, and it prints fine.

I am using the paralell port on the printer, hooked up to a
printerserver on the network. OPS printer setup is set to port 9100 and
FARGO driver.

I heard somewhere that you have to insert LC commands in the NPR
report in order to get a Datamax to work at all. I don't know if this is
the case or not. Anyone else had this problem?
