We are having the same problem, only with electronic reports that have
to be sent to one of two different EHRs in the doctors' offices,
depending on where the provider saw the patient. Since our interface
only connects via the provider dictionary, and there is only one
mnemonic, it can currently only be sent to one location.

Differently from paper reports, once the electronic report is sent (for
us, anyway) it cannot be re-sent. Nor can it be removed from the office
system it got sent to in "error." We only thought we had problems with
paper reports.......

Meditech tells me there is nothing on the radar that will help me deal
with this. I'd like to see something like how vendors are entered for
items in the MM Item dictionary--you can have multiple entries that all
go back and count against one master item. There's probably a million
other ways to do this, too. We have one provider who goes to four
locations, three that need electronic reports and one with paper. Life
could be better right now.

Thanks.

Subject: Re: [MEDITECH-L] Routing Outreach Lab Reports

Location, Location, Location, We have separate locations for every
Location that needs results
in LAB. Using two provider mnemonics has been done but I would think
you would not want to do that. ...... Actually Meditech does have a KB
article in the Knowledge base discouraging such a practice.

Unfortunately we do not use the same practice for other modules... and
they wonder why they can't get stats by location from those modules
since there is no info differentiating where the pt is at. We have Rehab
pts in 5 different sites but they are all registered to PT or OT or SPT.
The pt might live near one location but decide to go to another... we
have no way of knowing which location the pt is going to by way of
documentation or registration. Same problem with RAD... can't route
reports to the right pt location as the provider practices in a couple
but there is no way to know which office the pt went to. If we had
locations we would at least know where to send it.

I recommend you register by office location.
