The following courses are required for our new employees (see intended
audience). We do not currently have a standard training session for
providers. This is general training that is supplemented by preceptors
in work areas.
1. CCHC Intranet, PC And MOX (taught by IS analyst or Nurse Educator
in Human Resources Development Dept)
A two hour program designed to provide training and hands-on
experience in the Cape Cod Healthcare Intranet and MOX system. Modules
include, but are not limited to, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS),
Electronic Incident Reporting (EIR), Micromedex, UpToDate, Statref, and
basic MOX. This class is intended for new employees and current users
who need a thorough training in using the above mentioned modules.
Intended Audience: RNs, CNAs, Unit Secretaries.
2. Electronic Med. Admin. Record Training (taught by Nurse Educator in
Human Resources Development Dept)
This two hour course is designed to instruct nurses working in
inpatient areas how to use the new Meditech eMAR module. Topics covered
will include acknowledging medications, documenting medications, editing
documentation, un-doing documentation and more.
Intended Audience: FH and CCH Inpatient Nurses
3. Order Entry (taught by Nurse Educator in Human Resources Development
Dept)
A two hour program designed to provide training and hands-on
experience in the Cape Cod Healthcare Meditech system. Modules include,
but are not limited to, Order Entry, Patient Care Inquiry (PCI) and
Status Board. This class is intended for new employees and current users
who need a thorough training in using the above mentined modules.
Intended Audience: RNs and Unit Secretaries

All users get a short time on MOX during their orientation day. Nursing
gets a full day on NUR and OE by one of the analysts. Other than that it
is up to the individual areas to teach their staff how to use the system
since they are the best one to show how it is truly used and during the
different situations. We don't have enough staff to train everyone that
comes on and the departments need to be responsible.
