Hello,
We have been live for over 3 months now and we have a bigboard setup
which has worked very well. We are able to zoom into exactly what we
need so the monitor only shows the tracker. Here is our setup:

NEC LCD4010 40” monitor (without sound)
Peerless Ceiling mount with extender and vesa mount adapter
KVM switch
Dedicated PC

We were able to mount the 40" LCD directly to the peerless mount for a
stable solution. With the NEC monitor display we are able to zoom in
all directions (using the monitor's remote) to the exact size that we
need the screen to be. I have not noticed any significant distortion
when the monitor is zoomed in this setting.

We setup a dedicated PC to run the Bigboard, but we have mouse and
keyboard cords hooked into a KVM switch. The Unit Clerk's PC also has
their Mouse and Keyboard cords hooked into this switch as well. The
switch has 2 settings, 1 and 2. When on setting 1 the unit clerk's
keyboard and mouse will control their own PC, but when on setting 2
their keyboard and mouse will control the bigboard. We are able to
conserve valuable desk space with this approach by eliminating an extra
keyboard and mouse. We have trained all users and documentation is
posted on the procedure.

All has worked great so far with this setup. Hope this helps..

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] BIG SCREEN DISPLAYS FOR ED

We are in the process of implementing the EDM module and
would like to know what other sites are using for equipment for
the big screen display of the patient tracker. If you would
be willing to share the make/model of the display that you chose and
whether or not it's working well for you, I would greatly appreciate
it. Thanks, Marj
