Good day, I was asked to post the following question At sites that do not have a one-to-one relationship between the Drug mnemonics in the Drug dictionary and the NDC codes, what process is used to capture the NDC value for a specific dose of a drug?
For example, the drug Ketorolac-15 mg (J1885) is manufactured and supplied to your pharmacy by several companies (Baxter, Hospira, Roche) and each would assign a different NDC to their product. Yet in the drug dictionary, only one entry exists for Ketorolac. How would the specific NDC for a specific dose be captured and passed to the BAR system to meet billing requirements being imposed by the state Medicaid program?
