As far as I know, that's not possible unless you have multiple mnemonics (a
distinct mnemonic for each NDC). You'd also need a separate drawer in Pyxis
(or whatever) for each mnemonic/NDC combination. You'd have to make sure the
pharmacist entering/verifying the order knows exactly which of the multiple
mnemonics that nursing will pull from the Pyxis for the duration of the order.
(I guess we'd have to be clairvoyant.)

Please don't expect this to happen, there aren't enough hours in a day for your
friends in the pharmacy to keep up with this unrealistic task using the tools
that Meditech provides. Maybe eventually what is scanned using BMV will allow
us to easily differentiate what particular brand is used, but for now, no way.

Good day,
I was asked to post the following question

At sites that do not have a one-to-one relationship between the Drug
mnemonics in the Drug dictionary and the NDC codes, what process is used
to capture the NDC value for a specific dose of a drug?

For example, the drug Ketorolac-15 mg (J1885) is manufactured and
supplied to your pharmacy by several companies (Baxter, Hospira, Roche)
and each would assign a different NDC to their product. Yet in the drug
dictionary, only one entry exists for Ketorolac. How would the specific
NDC for a specific dose be captured and passed to the BAR system to meet
billing requirements being imposed by the state Medicaid program?
