Uhm, please take a look at UIs made with qml like e.g. qmlreddit. I honestly
don't
see how qml gives a nicer and more modern ui there. Sure, things like the
tablet UX
look great, but you obviously can also easily do UXs with qml which are way
more ugly
than the simplest qwidget based "Hello World".

I don't want to stop you from promoting qml as i have said many times before.
I just want to stop you from discouraging people from doing things differently.

If we'll someday have a nice and complete set of qml apps: Great! But if there's
one thing we've learned from maemo, then it's the fact that it takes time to
establish a new platform. And in the meantime applications from previous systems
fill that gap nicely and help to establish a user base. Do you remember the
fremantle
stars? All of them were coming from previous maemo versions. And their
job was exactly this: To pave the path for maemo5 specific programs.

And i think we agree that either Harmattan gets a substantial user base, soon.
Or it'll never
get one.
