The span mobile conference is over and the magazins report about new
phones. e.g. connect in germany.
It is obvious, that the phones will be communicators.
That means, they all have a QERTZ in the hardware, like Blackberries
started after nokia communicator,
That means, RIM soon will be dead, as email over flat data tarif is
possible for every private phone, and that will infect businessphones
too.

maybe N900 is the followup of the commuicator, but meego is still a
bad reason to wait for it in the phone shops. we need to speed up.

I would like to buy one to compile software in maemo for Qt .47
release, but i fear, the Nokia n900 needs a hardware update.

1. Qt 4.7 MUST compile for MeeGo, not for maemo, as maemo is dead,
dont touch a dead horse in the future release of Qt.
2. All Phones in the future have 1 GHZ, N900 has only 600 Mhz. Quim,
will that chip be updated?
3. I want to buy a N900 with meego on it, because I am not that
advanced to flash the N900 from maemo to meego, is there a scheduled
releasedate for the Meego N900?`
4. The N900 is not thin enough, if you put it into a business trouser,
you have it like a brick, if you put it into a jeans, you cannot sit
anywhere. Quim, why is the Iphone so thin and fast and even has a
bigger screen?
5. In the summer 2010 Iphone 4 G will be published. Maybe in 11/2010
meego N900 is out with some changes in cm and Ghz. Why should I buy
now a maemo phone, while the Iphone 4G is still better than N900-2 in
November.

Just because it is open source and we want to try to compile an app for it?

That means, if N900 name is not changed, and we get htis old brick
with meego, then the release needs to be in Mai.
If changes (1 ghz, thinner) are done, the name can be renewed and will
be "Nokia Megoo 900".
If there is no release date announced, i will buy in the summer an Iphone.
If there is a second phone released with meego operating system, it
will be not good as n900, because that reputation has been
established.

Would be good to have a release plan and project plan, when what
comes. That is of course as well an aspect of open source.

BADA is already released on three phones. Open source.
So what will win? Android, Bada, Meego, Symbian ?

Last point, it think RPM is the wrong format, use deb, that community
is much better and bigger and you have more surcces.
