Hi,
Was looking into the code and was wondering if there's any problem
submitting patches against MIC2 which uses closed source tools (ie,
open source patches, but may execute closed source tools).
Things that come to mind is for example Nokia's FIASCO image generator
or other device makers firmware format makers. While it would be good
to have those fully open, this luxury may not always exist, but the
important thing is that we can build images for these things and flash
our own system..
while it's obviously nicer if such tools are open, I don't see a fundamental
issue by doing an exec() to such a tool in terms of open source issues.
this is the last stage of creating an image and is generally done by some
external program (eg for cd's it'd be mkisofs etc)
