Yet another forum v mailing list thread (on the dev list an'all!) - great!!!

The main issue I see is that the way of working with fora & mailing
lists is different. Mailing lists are for people who batch process mail,
and want to see every message. Fora work better when you just want to
ask a question, get a drive-by answer and move on. Or you have a spare
hour, and you see what's been talked about recently (and ignore
everything older). It's a cross between twitter & a mailing list.

Discussing things important where you want everyone's attention on a
forum is going against the way fora work.
